Information Collection, Use and Disclosure
The CCAA respects your personal privacy. We appreciate your concern about your personal information, and believe ensuring the security of your personal information is an important part of our job. We strive to protect any personal information you give to the CCAA (address, name, email address, etc.). If we ask you to provide us with any personal information, we will tell you the purposes for which we intend to use that information. We will not collect, use, or disclose your personal information without your consent. We collect no personal information about you unless you choose to provide that information to us. We do not use techniques that collect personal information about you without your knowledge. Your personal information is not lent or sold to anyone for any purposes.
Your information is used to complete transactions that you request. CCAA members and potential members are required to provide certain information which is added to our internal membership database. The information maintained in the database includes the name, address and contact information of the member, the date on which the individual became a member, the type of membership, and information concerning the member's area of business specialty and a listing of the member's business services.
The information contained in the database can only be used for corporate purposes pertaining to the CCAA, such as publishing member directories, both print and online, and distributing newsletters and other information relevant to CCAA activities and interests. We use information on website traffic to compile statistics and reports for CCAA's use. However, the information in this format does not include any information that is personally identifiable. We analyze aggregated demographic information to understand our membership and their needs, but this information cannot be used to identify any particular individual.
Fraud Prevention
CCAA reserves the right to co-operate with local, national, or international law enforcement or other authorities in the investigation of improper or unlawful activities and this may require the disclosure of personal information. If such an investigation requires disclosure of personal information kept in our records, we may be required by law to cooperate. We also reserve the right to report improper or unlawful user activities on our site, which may require the disclosure of personal information relating to those individuals conducting such improper or unlawful activities.
CCAA Website Security
We will use appropriate security safeguards to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. However, while we make many efforts to ensure the security of your personal information, because of the nature of data transmission over the Internet, we can not guarantee it and you transmit your personal information to us at your own risk. For instance, email, which is certainly convenient, is not a secure means to send personal information, as it is not encrypted. In addition, the CCAA website contains links to other sites. This privacy statement only applies to information collected by our web site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices and policies of these third parties.
Accuracy Of Information
We strive to ensure that any personal information we retain and use is as accurate, complete and up-to-date as necessary for the purposes for which we will use it. We routinely update personal information for these purposes. Nonetheless, if our records regarding your personal information are inaccurate or incomplete, we will amend that information at your request.
Access To Information
At your request, we will provide to you a statement explaining the extent to which we hold personal information about you, and we will explain how that information has been used or disclosed by us.
Opting Out
If you wish to have any of your personal information removed from our databases, or if you no longer want us to send any further communications to you, please send an email to us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
This page will be kept current if information about the collection and use of your personal data changes.
